In today's society, it can feel like the hustle and bustle of life is constantly bombarding us. We're so accustomed to being on the move that we often forget to take care of ourselves. But one of the best ways to combat a hectic schedule is by taking time out for exercise. It might sound counterintuitive, given how busy you are, but exercising can actually help boost your energy levels and give you the stamina you need to get everything done.
It's recommended that adults should be getting at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity—or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity—a week (and that's just for starters!). If you're unsure about how much this is, think about it in terms of a goal: Get in at least 30 minutes of daily exercise, whether it’s brisk walking, running or swimming.
Exercise has a whole host of benefits, including:
- Improved cardiovascular health
- Increased longevity
- Improved brain function
- Mood enhancement
- Better sleep
- Increased energy levels
- Improved immunity
- Stronger bones and muscles
This may seem like an overwhelming amount of time to set aside from an already busy schedule. However, there are many ways to incorporate exercise into your everyday life. For example, rather than driving everywhere, try biking or walking instead—these modes of transportation not only contribute to your overall health but also contribute to the health of our planet! Walk up escalators instead of standing. Hopping down to the local store? Walk or bike. It's amazing how many minutes you can find to add up to the daily 30 without even trying.
No time like the present & don't forget to take RECOVER after your workout!
